Changes to The Family Protection Fund and The Contingency Fund

As part of your membership, you have access to cover that ensures your child’s benefits are protected in the event of death or financial hardship. We are pleased to advise we have recently made some favourable changes to these benefits as they relate to The Education Fund (TEF) and the Supplementary Education Program (SEP).



What has changed?

  • The Family Protection Fund (TEF and SEP) was designed to protect your nominated child’s benefits in the event of the death of the Prime Member or in the case of a joint account, either of the first two named members. This benefit has now been expanded to also include Terminal Illness. 

  • The Contingency Fund (TEF only) was created to assist members should they be unable to make contributions due to financial hardship. The maximum term of the benefit for individual members has been increased from 12 months to 18 months to provide additional support to members for
