You Can Do It! Education - picture of educational materials

Supported by ASG, You Can Do It! Education (YCDI!) is an award winning series developed by a team of education professionals under the direction of psychologist, Professor Michael Bernard Ph.D.

The comprehensive program shows students, their parents and teachers how to develop attitudes and behavioural patterns that enhance children's learning potential. It is an approach to learning that helps children realise their potential and achieve to the best of their ability. YCDI! works with school culture and educational programs to equip children with the attitudes and values that are the foundations for academic achievement, healthy relationships, and positive psychological well-being, as well as the eventual successful transition from school to further education, work and adult life.

The methodology of YCDI! involves teachers, parents, and the community working together to instil in children a belief in the value of education, and the importance of their own efforts in their achievements. Using a variety of motivational teaching and parenting practices, YCDI! school communities are committed to meeting the diverse needs of all children.

YCDI! incorporates effective practices for schools and homes to work together in motivating students to achieve to the best of their ability. Through teaching students the positive habits of the mind that research indicates is significant to students' achievement, YCDI! is helping to improve children's academic outcomes and social-emotional well-being. YCDI! educational materials (books, videos, curricula), and training programs have been developed for students, parents and teachers to help bring about not only improved school performance, but more effective teaching methods and parenting practices.

ASG Training Grants

As part of our commitment to children's education, ASG is providing professional development to teachers through our Training Grants Program for schools.

ASG's Training Grants Program was introduced to support our long established commitment to the education sector. Through this program ASG offers schools You Can Do It! Education training, which helps provide teachers with the resources they need to teach the 'Foundations for Achievement' and life skills, which reinforce social and emotional well-being in students.

YCDI! programs have been thoroughly researched and developed by Dr Michael Bernard, and provide each participating school with classroom strategies to help children succeed, and develop social and emotional health and well-being. YCDI! can help lift academic standards and empower young people with a positive mindset and the emotional resilience to cope with the many pressures of life today.

The success of the YCDI! philosophy is demonstrated by the growing number of schools employing the programs not only in Australia and New Zealand, but also in England, Wales, and Canada.

Providing You Can Do It! Education training to schools in the form of professional development grants demonstrates ASG's commitment to assisting teachers in supporting students to develop to their full potential.
